Hot new country duo Steel Magnolia will present a can’t-miss show at the St. Croix Casino Turtle Lake Event Center at 9 p.m. on Friday, August 17. Steel Magnolia rose to stardom after winning the television talent show Can You Duet in 2009. Meghan Linsey, a native of Ponchatoula, LA, formed the duo with her boyfriend Joshua Scott Jones whom she met while serving as a karaoke host in a Nashville bar. After their Can You Duet win, they signed with Big Machine Records, which released their debut single “Keep on Lovin’ You” in August 2009.  A second single, “Just by Being You (Halo and Wings),” followed almost a year later in July 2010. In between the release of their first two singles, the duo released a self-titled EP early in 2010, followed by a slew of singles, including the digital download-only singles “Just By Being You,” “It’s Christmas Time” and “Last Night Again.” On January 4, 2011, Steel Magnolia was nominated for an Association of Country Music (AMA) award in the Best New Duo Or Group category. Their self-titled album appeared a week later.
